Yesterday, the Bucks came back and beat the Los Angeles Lakers to secure a playoff spot. The amazing thing about that is that the Bucks defeated LeBron James in order to do so. He was the player that dominated the Eastern Conference for the last eight years so it is only befitting to defeat him and make the playoffs.
Who would have guessed that the Bucks would have been the first team to make the playoffs? Nobody to be honest. While the Bucks were decent last year, they were never this good. Giannis Antetokounmpo has improved a lot since last year and is in MVP talks for a reason. He isn’t the only player that has stepped up this year.
Eric Bledsoe and Malcolm Brogdon have both played great this year. They have become consistent scorers and give the Bucks the best depth at the point guard position after the Oklahoma Thunder (Russell Westbrook and Dennis Schroder.) Kris Middleton has always been the second option to Giannis and he plays great every night. Other [layers that deserve a nod are Pat Connaughton, Brook Lopez and Nikola Mirotic.
While the Bucks have a great chance to make a deep playoff run this year, what really matters is the future. The Bucks have great young players that will only get better. They have set themselves up for the future perfectly and will be replicated by other teams in a year or two. Right now, the Bucks are beginning to start their legacy and we should enjoy it while we can before it becomes normal to hate them for being too good.
