Giannis Antetokounmpo Declines LeBron James Invitation to Star in ‘Space Jam 2’

LeBron James must have been deflated to hear that NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo declined to star in the upcoming movie Space Jam 2. That’s all the basketball jokes I have in my gym bag!

Yes, you read that write. James wanted to cast his fellow NBA players in Space Jam 2 but he is having a hard time with that. Players aren’t flocking to team up with him in his upcoming movie. Why did Antetokounmpo decline to star in the movie?

The reason is quite simple; Antetokounmpo doesn’t want to give up two weeks of basketball practice. Not many players are as dedicated to the craft as Antetokounmpo is and we have seen it pay off for him. He is one of the two players likely to win the MVP award this year.

Here’s what Malika Andrews had to say about the story.

Still, when approached about starring in “Space Jam 2” with LeBron James, Antetokounmpo declined. Being in the film would have required him to give up two weeks of private workouts to train with his fellow stars while making the movie, a total non-starter, given Antetokounmpo’s reclusive tendencies.

“I don’t like being Hollywood,” Antetokounmpo says. “I don’t like all this extra drama. I am just going to try to be me.

Hearing that has to make the Milwaukee Bucks happy. They don’t have to worry about losing Antetokounmpo to a big market team. he prefers the smaller market and doesn’t flock to the limelight like most players.

Would you like to see Antetokounmpo in Space Jam 2? It will be interesting to see who ends up in that movie because if it doesn’t match the superstar-laden cast of the first Space Jam movie, fans will be disappointed and may not even watch the movie.
