Zion Williamson Declares for the NBA Draft

Zion Williamson, the best athlete not in the NBA, has officially declared for the 2019 NBA Draft. He is projected to be the number one pick and his impact in the NBA will be as big as any athlete currently in the NBA.

That is high praise for a player that is only 18 years old but he is just that good. If you watch his highlight videos, you would think he was already in the NBA. He is bigger than most NBA Players and weights more than every one of them except for one.

He averaged 22.6 points and 8.9 rebounds this season for the Duke Blue Devils. As a freshman. Watching Williamson in college showed just how pointless the one-and-done rule is. If any player was NBA ready, it was Williamson. College just stole a year from him but that won’t matter too much. He enjoyed his year year playing for Duke but you have to wonder what the headlines would have been if he got injured.

Now, the worst teams in the NBA are hoping to land the young phenom. He is expected to turn around whatever franchise he is drafted to. I am hoping it is my New York Knicks. That would be the best thing to happen to the Knicks since they last won their championship over 40 years ago.

If you loved Blake Griffin and his dunks earlier in his career, you will love Williamson. He flies higher and dunks with more power. Everyone is waiting to see him dunk in the NBA and when he does, everyone will jump out of their seat and be shocked by what they saw. No I am not a psychic but I do know a once in a lifetime player and Williamson is just that.
