Raptors Beat Bucks in Game Six and Will Play in the NBA Finals

The Toronto Raptors defeated the Milwaukee Bucks in six games to make their first NBA Finals appearance. They will be facing the Golden State Warriors on May 30th.

Kawhi Leonard carried the Raptors after being down 0-2 in the series. They won the next four straight games and proved to everyone that they are much better than given credit for. I had the Bucks winning the series and thought that they had the better team. It appeared so when they won the first two games but the Raptors played great defense and better offense to win the series.

I will say that it was fun watching Leonard take over and show everyone that he is a top three player in the league. While that conversation is saturated with many players, everyone will agree that Leonard is an elite offensive and defensive player. You don’t see a player take pride in both great offense and defense anymore.

The topic that will be in the news a lot in the next few days will be the Raptors going out and trading for Leonard. That move has taken them to the NBA Playoffs and it looks brilliant now that the Raptors are in the NBA Finals. Hiring Nick Nurse was a great move and it proves that change is necessary sometimes even when you win.

Let’s give the Bucks a lot of credit for achieving the success that they did. They went from a first round exit last year to making the Eastern Conference Finals. The lack of experience may have been their downfall but going forward, this series will help them. Now they have experience and will build upon it and maybe will make the NBA Finals one day like the Raptors did this year.
